Financial assistance for the Sik Family

We wish to bring to your attention the plight of Madam Sik Wai Chu and family.

Madam Sik. is a rubber tapper and her husband is a vegetable farmer. They have 3 children, 2 girls aged 23 and 21, and a boy aged 11 years old. Recently in 24th. November 2013 , Madam Sik was admitted to USM due to a stroke. After the operation, Mdm went into coma. She is fed with special milk via a tube and is now in critical condition(Brain Damage). As a result, her 2 daughters who are working as general clerks quit their jobs to take care of their mother. On the 15th of January 2014, Mdm was transferred back to KK hospital for the convenience of the family.

As they come from a poor family and are in need of financial assistance, we are now helping them to apply for financial assistance from Jabatan Kebajikan Malaysia for OKU benefits.

Meanwhile, to tide through this difficult period while waiting for the financial aid, I propose the Presidents of the 4 Clubs /members come forward to help Mdm by getting donations for her and her family.

The family request Suction Pump, PEG Tube, Ripple mattress, special folded bed, pampers and special milk.

CHINESE NEW YEAR CONTRIBUTION

During the Chinese New Year, we delivered foodstuff, daily supplies and cash RM2,200.00 (Banked in RM3,000.00), medical supplies like suction pumps, PEG Tubes, ripple mattress to the Sik family located behing Krai Seafood Restaurant, Jalan Kuala Krai/Gua Musang).

We wish to thank all the Zone 1 Club Presidents and donors for their kind contribution

1/11/2012 - We distributed 40 cakes & goodies for the students and staffs of SJK Pasir Gajah and also 5 hampers to the old folks from Pasir Gajah at Dewan SMK SYP 1.

 

 

 

Hari Raya Hampers

Salam 1 Malaysia, our PM always encourage us to be united with differenct races and culture. For the Hari Raya Puasa 2011 , Lions & Lioness Clubs of Kuala Krai gave away 10 hampers to the senior citizens(poor) at Kampong Gatal areas with the help of Encik Zainal from PPD Kuala Krai, Representative from Kemas and KTM

Our O/c Dr. Shafee and his lady organised this project at the Tadika Kemas KTM Kuala Krai on the 18/8/2011 at 5.30 pm . We wish them an enjoyable and memorable Hari Raya with their beloved family and freind as well .

President Wan Siew Leng, IPP Tai See Leok, PDG JP Kamalanathan, Tre. Nyanasegere, Sec Jenny, Ang Sew Cheng, Mohan, Lioness President Wan Phen , Lew Moie and new lioness Wong Lui Peen attended this project.

LIONS’ GREEN CORNER - EARTH DAY 2011

Date : 22th. April, 2011

Time : 9.00 – 11.00am

We launched our green corner at the DSC centre, and each of the participants were required to bring along a plant for planting. We invited POLIS Kuala Krai (Attended by Insp Norhaya )& Manik Urai (15), Kesihatan- DR. Khuzainah & staff (5), Pengerusi PDK Encik Ghazali & AJK (10), DSC Students & Parents (16) , NGO ( 6) & Lions & Lioness (15 + 4) a total of 71.

We started with the EARTH DAY 2011 -Signature poster. Every participant has to put on a signed sticker on the poster (as shown in the photograph). This is to signify full support for Earth day.

We cleaned-up the compound and planted 10 fruit trees(front and back), 10 shady trees and 150 flowers plants to beautify the centre. We invited our PDG DR. JP KAMALANATHAN to put up “LIONS GREEN CORNER” board .

During the break, we had environmental talks conducted by Lion Jenny Leong on how to minimize the usage of plastics and tried to emphasize 3R – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle in our daily life.

As for students, they had “EARTH DAY CRAFTS”. Lion Ang Sew Cheng demonstrated on ways of using recycled material such as using packing tape to create birds, using fruits protection nets for making dolls and greens packet for making baskets. They were also involved in coloring activities.

At the end of the program, we gave appreciation souvenirs to the participants and sponsors. Everybody felt very satisfied and happy because they have created a beautiful garden and environment for the unfortunate students and enhanced better relationship amongst us Lions and the Local community. The most important part was to have been able to contribute to EARTH DAY 2011.
