On the 21/7/2011, we visited Mr. Chua Chee Seng, 60 years old and lives at Taman Daskoh, Kuala Krai. He suffered a stroke since early July, 2011.

He needs medical and financial support for further treatment in Kuala Lumpur (彤善医院）。

Our team was lead by Lion Chan Yau Kiang , PDG Dr. JP kamalanathan, Jenny,Lioness President Wan Phen and Lew Moie and donated RM300.00 .

LOVE VISIT TO A RETARDED GIRL

We visited and donated RM600.00 to a Retarded Malay girl. Her name is Nor Damia Dalili Bt Azman aged of 4 (unable to speak,maybe deaf) at Taman Daskoh, Kuala Krai on the 14/7/2011 - She suffered from celebral palsy, sclerosis, blind and cannot eat & swallow anything. Her only diet is a special milk fomula fed through a tube attached to her tummy.

Our Donation of Recycled Flowers to Persatuan Rumah Amal Murni Kajang

We donated 188 tissue flowers to Persatuan Rumah Amal Murni Kajang for their Fund Raising Dinner for a New Home. This is their first Fund Raising Dinner to raise money for their premises. They sold the flowers within half an hour as it was Mother's Day and a lot of their donors bought them for their Mothers. They manage to collect at least RM2,000.00 from the sale of these flowers.

Pada 9hb Mei 2011 yang lalu, Lions Club Kuala Krai yang diketuai oleh Presidennya Wan Siew Leng telah melawat rumah keluarga mangsa yang terlibat dengan kes kebakaran tragis selepas rumah sewa mangsa di Taman Sri Guchil pada 6hb Mei 2011 terbakar.Dalam kejadian tersebut, seorang jururawat Hospital Besar Kuala Krai (Rafidah Ismail) telah terkorban manakala tiga lagi anaknya sempat diselamatkan oleh Allahyarham dengan mengumpil besi tingkap rumah mereka. Pada masa itu, suami Allahyarham Zamri Hamat, seorang anggota tentera di Kem Desa Pahlawan menjalani latihan di Grik, Perak.

Sehubungan itu, Lions Club Kuala Krai telah memberi sumbangan RM 300.00 kepada keluarga mangsa sebagai sumbangan takziah.

We manage to sell some of the table calenders although we faced dome difficulties as most of the companies over here in Kelantan give their customer free calenders.

MESSAGE FORM OUR DG DATO YEOW WAH CHIN

Malaysia is moving forward to be a developed country Education is the key to the success of this vision. With the escalating cost of education in private and public local institutions of higher learning, many poor but bright students are deprived of the opportunity to pursue their dreams. Education is one of the key ways to break through the vicious cycle of poverty.

The lions have identifies this need and appeal to Individuals and Corporations to help the underprivileged to realize their dream of a better education!

The Lions District 308B1 have launched an Education Fund called the Lions Education Assistance for the Needy (LEArN) Fund to address the education needs of the poor.

This fund will be placed in the Lions Education Foundation and the Foundation hopes to raise a target sum of RM1Million and more, to kickstart his important social responsibility in providing opportunities in education for the poor in our highly competitive society.

The LEArN Fund is an interest free education assistance fund. Upon graduation and securing a job, the recipients will repay the money according to a mutually agreed repayment scheme. The "revolving nature of the Fund is designed to help more underprivileged people over the years.

Objective:
1. To assist poor Malaysian students who are in need of financial assistance to pursue higher education in Malaysia.
2. To provide financial assistance to cover education fees as well as living expenses.

ALL PROCEEDS FROM THE SALE OF CALENDARS WILL BE DONATED TO THE LIONS EDUCATION ASSISTANCE for the NEEDY (LEArN) FUND!

During our Installation, we sold some souvenirs for our Education funds (sponsored byLion Wan Siew Loo). We used the proceeds of this to fund the text books for the 2nd half of the year for the poor students from the S.J.K ( C) YUK CHAI.
which was requested by the School.

Our president present the cheque of RM1100.00 to the President of PIBG witnessed by the two Headmaster, Ching Joo Was and Ong Kai Looi during Mooncake Festival celebration which is a Joint Project of all the NGOs in Kuala Krai. LC Kuala Krai also participated in this big celebration and sponsored a carton of mooncakes.

MADAM TAY YOKE LAN SELLS KUIH FOR A LIVING AND HAVE TO SUPPORT A GRANDSON AGED 7. SHE LOST EVERYTHING IN A FIRE. WE DONATED SOME MONEY AND FOODSTUFF TO HER FOR TEMPORARY RELIEVE.

HEART PATIENT BOY - WONG FEI LUN

On the 12th August 2010, we collected some donations for this heart patient boy after his conditions was highlighted in the newspaper.

We wish to express our appreciation to the donors.

Wong Fei Lun, 6 years old, comes form a poor family and has a heart problem. He is scheduled for an operation at the IJN (Institut Jantung Negara), Kuala Lumpur on the 16th August 2010. The operation costs RM18,000.00 and since he comes from a poor family, we are appealing to all to contribute.

Our Club donated RM300.00 for his travelling expenses. For those who wish to contribute, please contact any of our Club officials (contact information are all in the blog).
