JOINT PROJECT FOR DISTRICT 308 B1 & B2
Venue: Cameron Highlands
On the 30th Nov 2012, Lions Clubs from District 308B1 Zone 1 and Lions Club of Hillview Cameron highlands from District 308B2 successfully organized several joint projects in Cameron Highlands. The projects were a mixture of Health Awareness, Fellowship and Environmental Conservation. 6 Lions Clubs were involved and about 150 people participated in these meaningful projects.
The six Lions Clubs involved were,
Four Lions Clubs of Zone 1,
· Lions Club of Kota Bharu
· Lions Club of Kota Budaya
· Lions Club of Kuala Krai
· Lions Club of Gua Musang
and
· Lions Club of Terengganu from Zone 2
· Lions Club of Hillview Cameron Highlands from District 308B2
The 5 organizing committee members were,

The Meaningful projects were,
· “Walk for Cure” Lions Strides Walk for Diabetes Awareness.
The aim of this walk is to educate you and create awareness about diabetes and the importance of exercise for healthy life. In conjunction with Lions International Diabetes Awareness Month, we did a walk at the jungle track around Parit Fall, Cameron Highlands. The jungle trek was about 3 to 4 km, walking through rough and high terrains in the forest. It took about 50 minutes to complete. At the end of the trail, we had high tea fellowship at Sungai Pauh Camp site.
· “One Song Decides All” Lions Star Karaoke Competition.
Lions Club is not just about serving the community. It is also about fellowship among Lions, family members and friends. 25 participants participated in the fun Karaoke Contest. We have many talented singers in our various clubs. Our District Governor Chan Hoi presented the prizes to the winners.
· “Save The Planet” Environmental Tree Planting Project.
The next morning, we planted 60 trees at 2 sites, SJK (C) Kampong Raja and at the entrance road junction going to Kampong Raja, Cameron Highlands. This is a joint district project between 308B1 Region 1, which consists of 5 clubs, and Lions Club of Hillview Cameron Highlands from 308B2. Also at this road junction, Lions Club of Kota Budaya, Lions Club of Gua Musang and Lions Club of Hillview Cameron Highlands jointly installed a new sign board welcoming tourist to Cameron Highlands.
After the environmental project, Lions Club of Hillview Cameron Highlands organized a sightseeing trip around various farms and tourist attracts
