A wonderful, meaningful and enjoyable journey to the Small orang asli VILLAGE/settlement with 50 families and a SPECIAL FULLY EQUIP school AT THE SEKOLAH SK PASIR LINGGI (BADOI SEKOLAH) .It is situated about 42 km from the main road and 10 km from the juntion- small stoney/muddy road - only the Four wheel vehicle premitted.

The penghulu En. Ramli brought us into the settlement which is just a few minutes away from the school. Their settlement is situated near to the river. Most of them are rubber tappers. Some of the houses are equipped with electricity and water supply but they are still some who stays in the traditional bamboo huts. We took the opportunity to help En. Jaafar, Hasmi and Roslifor to build their houses.

The Headmaster, Puan SAKINAH BT YAACOB brought us around the school and told us that they are 123 orang asli students studying in the school and 15 teachers.. These students come from Kampong Pasir Linggi, Kuala Koh and Aring . The Asrama provides boarding for about 100 students .

They organised a MAJLIS SAMBUTAN HARI RAYA AIDILFITRI to celebrate the Hari Raya for all the settlements at the kampong and also to welcome the Lions Club. The Lions Club of Kuala Krai donated some foodstuffs and essentials as follows :

1) 20 schools bags with stationery set for the poor student

2) 20 bags of toiletries set for the school girls

3) 40 - Food stuffs packed in the "green" bags (penghulu)

4) 90 stationary sets packed in the "green" bags (all the students)

5) First Aid kit and bottle of Panadol

6) New story books /new toys/container

The president also encourage the students to take care of personal hygenie so that to stay away from the sickness especially the H1NI. Beside that she also encourage them to use "resuable" bags instate of the plastic bag ( all the goodies are packed in the reusable/green bags) -as plastic bags take 1000 years to degrade. This is also in line with our theme of the year “GO GREEN”

We were well entertained by the orang asli, who organized events like karaoke competition, colouring the hari raya card contest and presented awards for the most well dressed for the festival.
