Peace Poster Contest Final Judging - 13th Nov 2010
The final of the contest was held on 13th November 2010 at the City Square, Johor Bharu. Guest of Honour was YB Mok Check Hou (Adun of Kawasan Stualang). Judges were Grace Lee, Lim King Vung and Pang Si Heng and they picked the poster by Lim Pik Yee (LC of Seremban Central) as the champion followed by Pu Chee Lim (LC Batu Pahat) as 1st runner-up and Tey Yee Ken (Lc of Kota Tinggi) as the 2nd runner-up. Tan Vi Nie (LC KUALA KRAI) won the consolation .

On the 19th.April, 2011, LC Kuala Krai presented the Peace Poster Contest 2010 -2011 consolation prize to the winner - TAN VI NIE ( S.J.K (C) YUK CHAI) during the School Assemly by President Wan Siew Leng. She hope more students were take part.

We launched our green corner at the DSC centre, and each of the participants were required to bring along a plant for planting. We invited POLIS Kuala Krai (Attended by Insp Norhaya )& Manik Urai (15), Kesihatan- DR. Khuzainah & staff (5), Pengerusi PDK Encik Ghazali & AJK (10), DSC Students & Parents (16) , NGO ( 6) & Lions & Lioness (15 + 4) a total of 71.

We started with the EARTH DAY 2011 -Signature poster. Every participant has to put on a signed sticker on the poster (as shown in the photograph). This is to signify full support for Earth day.

We cleaned-up the compound and planted 10 fruit trees(front and back), 10 shady trees and 150 flowers plants to beautify the centre. We invited our PDG DR. JP KAMALANATHAN to put up “LIONS GREEN CORNER” board .

During the break, we had environmental talks conducted by Lion Jenny Leong on how to minimize the usage of plastics and tried to emphasize 3R – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle in our daily life.

As for students, they had “EARTH DAY CRAFTS”. Lion Ang Sew Cheng demonstrated on ways of using recycled material such as using packing tape to create birds, using fruits protection nets for making dolls and greens packet for making baskets. They were also involved in coloring activities.

At the end of the program, we gave appreciation souvenirs to the participants and sponsors. Everybody felt very satisfied and happy because they have created a beautiful garden and environment for the unfortunate students and enhanced better relationship amongst us Lions and the Local community. The most important part was to have been able to contribute to EARTH DAY 2011.

We have our PUBLIC SPEAKING PRESENTATION individually,and our top three English Speakers are
STEVEN TAN, SP LEE (from our super power team) and Dr Quah Soon Cheang.Congratulations to them
Later the top three speakers from each English & Mandarin Classes did the presentation . They were really good and presented well.
For the closing ceremony, District 308B1 Govenor Dato Yeow Wah Chin presented all the Certificates of Attendance to all the presenters and participants.
We really have to thank and appreciate District 308B1 Govenor Dato Yeow Wah Chin and all Organizing Committee for their hard work to make the Lions Leadership Institute a great success.

We have the most enjoyable day as we have to do presentation . We gain a lot of knowledge from other presentation and also some fun too. Besides that we have to prepare Assignment for the next day which is " PUBLIC SPEAKING"

At night, we had the Team presentation and our " SUPER POWER TEAM" won the 2nd. runner up.

(The Lions community services - "clean up project" during the Environmental month at LIONS PARK at Ara Damansara win the heart of the two elderly citizens and successfully recruit them as member)
