EXHIBITION OF GANDHI,KING,IKEDA: A Legacy of Building Peace

We received a special invitation from President of Soka Gakkai, Mr Loong Ah Loke President, to join the VIP YB Dato Annuar Tan (exco member of Negeri Kelantan) and other NGO's in Kota Bharu for the open ceremony of the Exhibition.
The exhibition is divided into sections that present their lives in relation to these key themes -
FORGING DESTINY- imparts the importance of mentors and the strong influences upon each man"s life
HUMANITY AT THE HEART- explores their common belief in the innate dignity of humanity
PRINCIPLES INTO ACTION- illustrates how each man was able to translate his principles into dynamic action
NON-VIOLENCE- explores the principles of non-voilence action as a way of life and a means to bring about positive change in society
ADVERSITY AND RESISTANCE-show each man"s ability not only to triumph over adversity, but to utilise it to further their growth as humanists.

We invited the 12 winners to KFC Kuala Krai, the Principle and the Representatives of the School for the prize presentation ceremony. This year about 100 students from S.J.K. ( C ) YUK CHAI, AND SEK.KEB BATU MENGKEBANG participated. We thank the schools and the principles for taking part and hope they will continue to do so next year.

President Wan Siew Leng mentioned that the main purposes of having the Lions Peace Poster contest is to spread the message of peace & educate students to live in peace, harmony and united amongst each other irrespective of race, creed and religion.

World Sight Day on 10.10.10



On this special day 10.10.10, Lions Club of Kuala Krai joined in the Walk for Sight Event, held at Dewan Sivik MBPJ. This program was held in conjunction with Lions World Sight Day Jointly organized by Lions Club International District 308B1 and 308B2. Its purpose is to create awareness amonth the community on the importance of sight by inviting all participants to experience the challenges in a 3km walk blindfolded. Lions Club of Kuala Krai donated RM500.00
(Knight of the Blind) to the project in aid of Lions Eye Clinic. 6 of us joined in this event. (P/S/T)
